Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange debuts Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition, in The Cathedral Cultural Center on the Christ Cathedral Campus. The limited time exhibit is an immersive experience of museum quality and near-life size reproduction of the iconic master’s frescos that adorn the Sistine Chapel in Rome, recreating the awe and wonder of arguably one of mankind’s greatest artistic achievements.

While the introduction and information in the pre-show area of the exhibition will prepare visitors for a new staging of Michelangelo’s works and awaken their curiosity, the overwhelming impression for the observer will be the dimensions of the art, the closeness to the picture, and the modern style of the exhibition. As a result, the visitor can explore the artwork up close at a distance impossible to achieve in the Sistine Chapel.
Visitors who have never seen the originals promises to intrigue and inspire art lovers to visit the Sistine Chapel, while those who have already visited the Sistine Chapel will find a new way of appreciating one of the greatest works of art.

The exhibit is open to the public from April 13, 2019 through January 11, 2020, and can be seen seven days a week. Refer to the website for black-out dates and ticket prices.
